A WORD FROM THE CHIEF
June 24, 2009
I would like to congradulate the class of 2009 for finally reaching their goal. Now it is time to prepare themselves for the next part of their lives with college or moving into the work force.
The school year is one day from being over and we can not express our concerns enough with underage drinking and driving. It is a known fact that more high school graduates are seriously injured or killed from MVA's in the weeks shortly after graduation then any other time of the year. In the front of our station we have placed a vehicle that our firefighters used for an extrication demostration at the last Child Safety Day, to remind us of the destruction that can be created for a night of drinking and driving.
I am proud to announce that we have finally received our reimbursment of $15,000 from the 2008 Farly Grant that was used to purchase 15 new pagers, 15 EMT bags and 5 sets of gear. We are currently waiting for word on the 2009 ENCON Grant that we submitted.
Chief Watrobski
